Douglas County RWD #3 began in January of 1965 in the Stull area of rural Douglas County, eventually spreading toward Lecompton and into southeast Shawnee County: south of SE 45th Street, north of the Wakarusa River and west toward Forbes Field & Heartland Park.  The general area of the district cover approximently a 15 square mile area.  The office moved to its current location at 7035 SE 69th St, Berryton, in 1994 and is centrally located within the district.
